Back to Luck Buffer

Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

The short version

Your financial data never leaves your browser. The calculator runs entirely client-side — no numbers are sent to any server, stored in cookies, or saved anywhere. Refresh the page and everything is gone. We do use Google Analytics to count page views.

What we collect

We collect two categories of data:

  • Calculator inputs — nothing. Every number you enter (savings, expenses, severance) is processed locally in your browser using JavaScript. It is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
  • Page-view analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they view. GA4 collects standard web analytics data including IP address (anonymized), browser type, device type, and referring URL. This data is processed by Google under their Privacy Policy.

Cookies

Luck Buffer itself sets no cookies. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to distinguish unique visitors and sessions. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

localStorage

Luck Buffer saves your calculator inputs (income, savings, severance, and expense fields) to your browser's localStorage under the key luckbuffer_v1. This keeps your entries intact across page refreshes and browser restarts. The data never leaves your device — it is not synced, transmitted, or accessible to us.

You can erase it at any time using the Clear saved data button in the Financial Snapshot section, or by clearing your browser's site data for 2luk.com. We do not use sessionStorage.

Third-party services

  • Google Analytics (GA4) — page-view analytics. Google Privacy Policy
  • AWS CloudFront — CDN that serves the site. CloudFront logs standard HTTP access logs (IP, user-agent, URL) which are retained for 30 days for security purposes.

Data retention

No user-entered data is retained because none is collected. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months per Google's default settings.

Your rights

Since we don't collect or store any personally identifiable calculator data, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete. To exercise rights over GA data, use Google's My Account or the GA opt-out tool above.
